You know, I've always found the employees at St. Mungo's to be so, entirely lovely. Thank you so much to the Mediwizards, Healers, and Potioneers who take care of us. Thank you to the administrative staff, the Tearoom & Gift Shop clerks, the cafeteria workers, the maintenance crew, everyone who makes the hospital run as efficiently as it does. Each and every one of you do so much good and that you've all made the decision to help people in such a vital way and that you've made the choice to show so much compassion and care when people need it the most, is the most commendable thing in the world. All of your efforts are so very appreciated. Thank you.

And thank you very much to whoever left the stack of Witch Weekly's by my bed this morning!

[Warded to Charlie Longbottom]
How's Mel doing? I'm so sorry about Catherine, Charlie.

Have there been any updates on Rufus and Brutus?

Thank you very much to the always wonderful Dorcas Meadowes for bringing in those Junior Witch biscuits yesterday! I think I comforted myself made one too many ice cream sundaes with them when I got home last night.

[Warded to Rufus Scrimgeour]
Hello, sir! I'll preface this by saying that I understand if you can't disclose any information due to authorisation issues, but I was wondering if there's been any progress on Kenton Abercrombie's case? The Unspeakable who was sent to St. Mungo's on Tuesday? It's mostly a personal inquiry; Mr. Abercrombie is a friend of mine.

I'd just like to echo the thanks to everyone who helped in Diagon Alley over these past few days. And even if you weren't able to come, all of the support and well-wishing was just as appreciated! I think it's amazing how many really wonderful things people can accomplish when they come together with positive energy and a desire to help a good cause. Even when faced with tragedy and destruction, it's always inspiring to know that there are always people who will help you rebuild.

[Warded to Fiona Rookwood]
Thank you so much again for Saturday! I had a really wonderful time; it was so nice to see everyone. And YOU, always.

Thank you for coming by on Saturday! It was really lovely to see you.

Thank you so much for the gifts, Patrick! I think they were very cool. The necklace is brilliant and I'm planning to use the Key of Success to open the Door of Opportunity so I can stand amidst the Cherry Blossoms and become a Dream Believer. That's the greatest present of all, really.

Has there been any news about Cerys? I'm so sorry about her parents. If either of you need anything, I'm here.

[Warded to Augusta, Alice, & Charlie Longbottom]
How's Frank holding up? And all of you? If there's anything I can do or bring you, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll stop by as soon as I can today.

[Warded to Fiona Rookwood]
ARE YOU OKAY? And poor Dedalus! I feel so terrible about his parents; it's such a tragic loss. Have you had a chance to talk to him?

[/ward]

[Warded to Tia Jimenez]
Are you doing okay after last night?

[Warded to Rose Doge]
I just wanted to check in! I hope you were able to avoid any more incidents, although you were really impressive in such a difficult situation. How's your patient? And how are you? I'm here if you and Oberon need anything.

I hope everyone has a lovely Valentine's Day! Celebrate and have a wonderful time with whoever your loved ones might be. Just remember to have a designated Apparator with you if you intend to get tipsy on champagne. Or love.

[Warded to Portia Dawlish]

I'm so sorry about everything that happened to your family last night! Is everyone doing alright? Well, considering.

[Warded to Miriam Strout]

I am so sorry I wasn't around for you last night. How are you holding up? And Gideon? Nothing happened after the broadcast, did it? I tried to keep an ear out in case anything came up, but it was a bit mad. If you need anything, I'm working nights so I can come by anytime before then to cater to your every whim. Or your dad's, if you'd like me to go check up on him!

I know I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm finding the Ministry's sensitivity training to be quite fun, myself. And informative! With all the tragedy that's taken place recently, it's really encouraging to see people working towards the greater common goal of kindness and understanding. And it's helping us look at things a little differently than we might have otherwise!

FOR INSTANCE, take today's lesson! My sister Carol let me read her copy of Blood Ties: My Life as a Lie a few years ago, but I'm not sure if I really appreciated the message like I did when I reread it today. It's the story of a Muggleborn student sorted into Slytherin struggling to find his identity and place in the community. Written by a Muggleborn, I think it provides quite a bit of insight into how the protagonist felt and why he felt it, the alienation and uncertainty that shaped who he was as he grew up. That's how I saw it from my perspective, anyway!

It makes you think about the challenge that Muggleborns face right from the get-go; walking into an unknown, potentially hostile (maybe not overtly, but it still matters!) situation and the cues they're given from those first meetings. If everyone put just a little more effort into empathizing with the other, wouldn't that foster a more trusting environment on everyone's part? Prevent some from treating others in an unfair manner and, therefore, prevent the resentment that might stem from being treated unfairly? In a broader sense, it speaks to the issue of feeling ostracized and I think that's something we can all understand, yeah? Haven't most of us felt judged for something beyond our control, at least in some, small way? I think if we applied that understanding to others, it might help us see each other as people, more than the labels that are given to us. And really, is the damage that's done by approaching a person, or situation, with prejudice when they, as individuals, haven't done anything to prove that they've earned that bias worth it just to think of yourself as better? I really don't think it is.

That's my take away from the story, anyway. I thought it was a brilliant read! I'd like to think that I've lived by that message, but it certainly wouldn't hurt if I tried a little harder to keep all of that in mind. I'm really looking forward to next week!

Have a safe night, everyone!
